Admissions

Admissions Process

Admissions Information:

Parents interested in enrolling their son or daughter should fill out the preliminary application form and send it to the School, together with a current transcript and all available educational and psychological testing. As soon as the material is received, the family is invited for an interview; students are selected on the basis of their ability to benefit from the program.

Application Timetable:

It is in the student’s best interest to plan entrance for September, though some are admitted in January and a few at other times throughout the year as space becomes available.

The Kildonan School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, or any other programs administered by the school.

Students Talk about Their Experiences at Kildonan

When I started Kildonan, I had a very hard time reading and writing. I was ashamed of my dyslexia and felt like I was less than everyone around me. I was very close to dropping out of school. I had built up a hatred of schools and teachers because I was told by many teachers and school officials that I would never make it, and that I had no hope of getting to college. I had no friends because kids looked at me as a special ed case. In tenth grade I came to Kildonan very unsure of myself. Now, after three years of tutoring classes, and meeting many students and adults who shared my disability, I am now on my way to Rochester Institute Of Technology. I have made friends here that I will have throughout my life. Also, I now feel like part of the group instead of an outcast.
