Math tutoring is available for campers with a demonstrated need.
Additional 1:1 Language Training
An additional 1:1 one-hour Language Training session is available with an Orton-Gillingham tutor, if you feel your camper needs more instruction with their language and writing skills acquisition. Older campers might need extra guidance and support with preparation for college essay writing.
English as a Second Language
Designed for English language learners, this one-hour per day group instruction will improve spoken language and provide vocabulary and grammar enrichment that is integrated with skills developed in the Language Training Tutorial. The class takes the place of a daytime study hall period.
Spanish Language and Culture
Participants will be immersed in Spanish language and develop their speaking and listening skills while engaging in authentic cultural experiences from Spanish and South American traditions.The group will meet 2-3 times a week, and campers will learn to dance and appreciate music, culminating in a presentation of their learning at the end of camp.
Irish Gaelic Language and Culture
Many young people in Ireland attend Irish Gaelic language summer camps, in order to learn the language and traditional culture. Led by Irish counselors, this activity shares that experience, in which campers will learn about the Irish Gaelic language and participate in dance and music appreciation activities, culminating in a presentation of their learning at the end of camp.
