Each tutor is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach by on site Fellows of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners & Educators. Subsequent to that training, they participate in a practicum experience that involves observations and ongoing training meetings. Many of them are teachers from The Kildonan School or return from previous summers at Dunnabeck. Since they are not involved in the residential aspects of the camp experience, their full attention is directed toward language training

The counselors provide a nurturing environment and offer unique cultural experiences to share with the campers since most are from abroad. They provide 24 hour supervision -- during the day in activities and in the evenings in the dormitories.
