Meet the Staff
Director of Admissions
David J. Tuttle has a B.S. in Business and Human
Services from the University of Connecticut and has worked in special
needs education for twenty-two years. David has spent a majority of
this time within administrative roles at The Glenholme School in
Washington, CT. During his tenure there, he wore many hats, as most
boarding school faculty do, and served many roles such as Residential
Dean and Lower School Program Director. During the last five years, he
worked specifically in Admissions and Marketing on both domestic and
international levels.
David enjoys his work in the community and has served on several
boards over the years, ranging from human service to community theatre.
His most recent service work was as the President to The Brookfield
Theatre for the Arts, an organization to which he had served as a board
member for 8 years prior. He has also done service work with the
Northwest CT AIDS Project, the Wheeler Clinic outpatient family support
services, and he served on the vestry of his church.
David resides in Connecticut, but he now has a new home here in the
Kildonan community. We are excited to take advantage of the his vast
experience and expertise, and we are honored to welcome him to Kildonan.
Director of Student Recruitment and Financial Aid
Beth Rainey came to us from The Forman School in Litchfield, CT, where she served as Director of Admissions for nine years. During that time she was co-founder of The Caribbean Boarding School Fair as well as secretary of the Western Connecticut Boarding School Association. Prior to Forman, Beth worked in the Central Dauphin School District in Pennsylvania in their early childhood program and was also a case manager for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She is a member of several organizations that focus on learning differences, including The International Association of Special Education, National Association of Learning Disabilities, and the International Dyslexia Association. Beth has a well recognized understanding of students who learn differently, and we look forward to her energy and expertise as she helps Kildonan fulfill its mission. In
her spare time, Beth enjoys being with her five grandchildren.
Associate Director of Admissions
Samantha Jones is an alumnus of The Kildonan School. She graduated from Kildonan and obtained her B.S. in Business and Marketing from Western Connecticut State University. After completing her studies and feeling the need to give back to the school that helped her achieve her goals, she returned to Kildonan as a faculty member, living on campus and filling the roles of tutor, coach, and advisor. After a year at the school, she was asked to join the Admissions team. Her vast understanding of the interworking of The Kildonan School, as both student and teacher, gives her a unique perspective that can be shared with prospective students and families. She is both happy and grateful to be given the opportunity to now be helping students who struggled like her have a chance to find success within the Kildonan community and beyond.
