Dining Hall

Most meals at Kildonan, with the exception of Elementary lunch, are served in the school's Dining Hall.  Upper School boarding students eat breakfast between 7:30-7:50 before heading to their academic classes.  Middle and High School students have separate lunch periods, and then the boarding students return to the Dining Hall for dinner at 6:00 before heading off to their evening study period.  On Fridays during nice weather, the entire school gets together for barbecue lunches by the tennis courts.  On most Friday evenings, boarding students gather in small groups with faculty members and their families to prepare dinner together in a faculty residence.

A majority of meals are served buffet style, with hot and cold menu offerings coupled with staples like fresh fruits and vegetables and a variety of food items.  Almost all of the items served are made from scratch in our kitchen, and the menu is designed to balance taste with healthy, fresh ingredients.  Our culinary team is led by Lisa Mielich, who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.

Elementary students are served the full lunch menu in their multi-purpose room.
