Parents

Parents' Association

Formally established in 1997, the Kildonan Parents’ Association is a voluntary, nonprofit organization. All parents and/or legal guardians of Kildonan and Dunnabeck students are automatically members. The Association involves parents and guardians in the non-academic activities of the school in a variety of ways. From volunteering as a class parent at the elementary level to exchanging ideas for speakers, workshops, and fund-raising events, you are encouraged to become an active member and to have a voice in this organization.

Transferring to new schools can be a trying experience for both parents and students. Returning parents can meet with new parents to provide understanding and to answer the questions we all have about providing our children with a smooth transition to the Kildonan program. Parents of seniors and transferring students in grades 2 through 12 also have an opportunity to share information about colleges and other secondary schools. Your experiences are valuable to parents facing those new challenges.

We are mindful that parents of boarding students usually cannot attend any parent meetings that may arise, but you can provide a network of support for other boarding parents in your area. In addition, you can assist by making suggestions and by helping to plan events.

As a group, our parents have the imagination, determination, contacts, and resources to make the Association a success and to be a supportive and meaningful part of your children’s school environment.

Director of Development Patricia Roberts is the Kildonan administration liaison to the Parents’ Association. Please call or write Trish with any questions or suggestions you may have. E-mail or call now to add your name to the contact list for parents of new or departing Kildonan and Dunnabeck students.
