The Science program at Kildonan has three central goals: to stimulate student interest in scientific investigation; to promote a basic understanding and awareness of science sufficient to allow students to make informed, rational, and justifiable decisions based on observed data; and to promote developing language and mathematical skills through appropriately challenging content material.
The multi-sensory method of instruction used in every class promotes an environment of active exploration within the structured learning environment. The use of computers, interactive videos and DVDs, exploratory lab projects, and the considerable natural resources of the 500 acre Kildonan campus are all integral to the program.
Most science courses require a weekly 45-minute laboratory to teach students about the scientific method of data collection and analysis.
