Diana Hanbury King - Coping with the Motor Component, Step-by-Step to Competent Writing - A Structures Approach

Expository writing can be taught to all students provided the process is broken down into the small steps that will enable all students to gain confidence at every stage. Work begins with lists and sentences, progresses to the various types of paragraphs, and culminates in the writing of the five- paragraph essay. Unlike narrative or descriptive writing, exposition is a teachable skill.

Most multisensory Orton-Gillingham based approaches require a student notebook. Practical information will be provided on making the notebook “user friendly,” informative, and a progress record for student and parent use.

Dawn M. Nieman - Multisensory Math

This session will show how to make math interesting by presenting teacher-created manipulative materials and ideas for classroom use. Audience participation will be incorporated.

Kristen Rosencrans - Multisensory Lesson Plans Made Easy: Effective Classroom Tools

This workshop presents multisensory techniques to engage students and increase motivation in subject matter classes. Use multisensory teaching to create assignments, activities, and lesson plans!
