Parents or guardians are responsible for making student’s transportation arrangements.

Bea Sattler, Administrative Assistant, will coordinate student travel plans from the information indicated on the Transportation Forms. She can be reached at 845/373-2025 (Direct Line) between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. It is important to call her direct line not the main number with any transportation information.

Airports
We will arrange transportation for students to and from LaGuardia and Kennedy Airports in New York and Bradley Field in Hartford, CT. In order for us to coordinate airport transportation, we must be informed of student travel plans at least two weeks before the arrival or departure date. Without the appropriate notice, we cannot guarantee a chaperone will be available to accompany your child. In addition, your child may have to sit in the airport a long time awaiting an existing airport run,

Tickets should be mailed to Bea Sattler—not to the student. Passports and I-20’s (forms for foreign students enrolled in school in the United States) should be turned in for safekeeping upon arrival at school.

Keep in mind that departing students will leave campus no earlier than 9:00 a.m. and that it takes approximately two to three hours to get to the airports. To avoid an additional travel fee for special arrangements as well as to ensure chaperone availability, please do not book departing flights any earlier than 11:00 a.m.

For arriving flights, students are picked up at the airports between 12:00-5:00 p.m. Please book flights accordingly to avoid extra travel charges. Once again, if a student arrives or departs very early or very late, a chaperone may not be available.

Train
Round-trip transportation between Wassaic, New York, and New York City (Grand Central Station) for Open Weekends and all vacations can be arranged on the Harlem Valley train line provided we are advised of your travel plans at least two weeks in advance.

Please remember that a Transportation Form is required each time a student leaves campus with someone other than Kildonan staff. We need to know when and how they are leaving, even if you make your own travel arrangements or plan to pick them up yourself.

No student will be allowed to leave the school with a driver under 25 years of age without special permission from the Headmaster.

Kildonan students are not permitted to drive within 25 miles of the school, even when in the company of their parents.
