Meet the Staff
Our Camp Director—Jeremy Robbins
Jeremy Robbins, Director of Camp Dunnabeck, joined the Kildonan family in 2011 as the coordinator of the Kildonan chapter of Project Eye to Eye, and is the Associate Headmaster at The Kildonan School. During the school year, he directs Student Council and the Student Leadership program, where he guides students on the path of service learning in countries such as Spain, Turkey and Brazil. Deeply committed to social justice, Mr. Robbins strives to connect students’ personal worlds at The Kildonan School and Camp Dunnabeck to the world beyond.
Mr. Robbins earned his MA in private school leadership from Teacher’s College, Columbia University in 2006. When not empowering dyslexics through leadership experiences, he enjoys the outdoors and animals with his wife and two young sons.
Each Camp Dunnabeck Language Training tutor is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach by on-site Fellows of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE). Subsequent to that training, they participate in a practicum experience that involves observations and ongoing training workshops.
Many of the camp tutors are teachers from The Kildonan School, or return from previous summers at Camp Dunnabeck. Since they are not involved in the residential aspects of the camp experience, their full attention is directed toward language training.
Our camp counselors come to us from around the world, providing a nurturing environment and offering unique cultural experiences that they share with campers. Counselors reside in the dormitories for 24-hour supervision of campers.
Our counselors have the same life-changing experience at Camp Dunnabeck as our campers.
“Can I just say thanks for choosing me to join you this past summer. It has been the greatest experience of my life.”
—Kieran, Counselor 2016
