We seek an experienced and dynamic Assistant Director to join our leadership team for the upcoming season.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Camp Director to plan and implement camp programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Supervise and support camp staff in their daily responsibilities, including program delivery, behavior management, and camper care.

  • Manage camp operations, including facilities, equipment, and supplies, and ensure they are maintained to a high standard.

  • Develop and implement staff training and professional development programs

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on camp activities and address any concerns or questions that may arise

  • Assist with camper registration, orientation, and departure procedures

  • Serve as a role model for staff and campers by embodying the values and mission of Camp Dunnabeck

  • Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions

  • Assume the responsibilities of the Camp Director in their absence

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Previous experience working in a leadership role in a camp or educational setting

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Knowledge of and experience with camp operations, including program delivery, camper care, and staff management

  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Complete a background check
