We seek a creative and enthusiastic Theater Instructor to join our team for the upcoming season.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach theater classes to campers, including instruction on acting techniques, improvisation, script writing, and stagecraft.

  • Develop an engaging and age-appropriate curriculum that fosters campers' creativity and self-expression.

  • Work closely with other camp staff to integrate theater instruction into overall camp programming.

  • Direct campers in theater productions, from casting to rehearsal to performance

  • Provide guidance and support to campers as they work on their theater projects, and help them overcome technical and creative challenges.

  • Encourage and facilitate camper participation in activities and programs, and help them develop their skills and interests.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages campers to learn, grow and have fun.

  • Maintain and organize theater equipment and supplies.

  • Provide end-of-camp reports for campers in these activities.

  • Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.

  • Complete a background check.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in theater or a related field or equivalent professional experience

  • Previous experience teaching theater, preferably in a camp, school, or community setting

  • Experience working with children, and a passion for helping them develop their creativity and self-expression

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

  • Knowledge of and experience with directing and producing theatrical productions
