The Kildonan School believes that neat attire encourages respect for learning and a concern for one's surroundings. Our dress code allows for flexibility and individual expression while directing focus toward academic pursuits rather than outward appearance.
All clothing worn above the waist (except navy blazers) requires a Kildonan crest. Kildonan adopts a dress code from the Lands' End School Uniform catalog.
Students must wear a Lands' End school polo shirt (available in many solid colors) with the Kildonan Crest embroidered on the front. If a student chooses to wear a shirt under the polo, it should not be visible unless it is a white undershirt that shows only at the collar. Under NO circumstances should a long-sleeve shirt be worn under a short-sleeve polo shirt.
All articles of clothing must be in good repair. Clothing with holes or rips are not permitted. Long-sleeve shirts are not to be worn under short-sleeve polo shirts. Shirts for girls may have no more than two buttons unbuttoned at top, shirts must cover midriff, shirts with spaghetti straps or strapless shirts are not permitted at any time.
Several times throughout the school year, the Kildonan Parents Association (KPA) will hold a clothing swap. This gives Kildonan families the opportunity to trade in their child's Kildonan garments that are in good condition, and swap them for other clothing items. These items include Kildonan crested clothing as well as winter/ski items. If you do not have an item to trade in, you may purchase an item of clothing from the swap.
Footwear: Sturdy footwear including sneakers. No open-toed or open-backed shoes.
