BS, Criminal Justice, Keuka College 2009
Dan first came to Kildonan in 2012 after retiring from a 26-year Law Enforcement career. He worked to create the upper school music program teaching guitar, bass and vocals, in addition to working as a dorm head, crew chief and basketball coach. He briefly left Kildonan in 2015 to pursue a career as a Paralegal in downtown Manhattan, but recently chose to return to Kildonan because this is where his true passion lies. During his 26-year police career Dan worked as a patrolman, community police officer, DARE officer, juvenile investigator, criminal investigator, road patrol sergeant, special services supervisor, evidence room manager, drug court liaison, crime prevention officer, accreditation manager, faculty for the National Drug Court Institute, and the NYC Center for Court Innovation (drug courts). During the early part of his career, he worked for six years supervising an after school juvenile delinquency prevention program known as the “Phoenix Program,” for youth between the ages of 7 to 15 years old. Kildonan has given Dan the chance to reconnect with his passion for helping children stay on track and helping them succeed as they face the many challenges in the world today.
