Kildonan's Camp Dunnabeck >> Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic, positive, and dedicated individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors for the upcoming season.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during activities and throughout the day.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of various camp activities matched with your interests, including sports, arts and crafts, drama, music, ceramics, dance, archery, mountain biking, photography, video, coding, 3D printing, and gardening.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, supportive environment that encourages campers to learn, grow and have fun.

  • Develop meaningful relationships with campers, and serve as a mentor and role model to help them achieve their full potential.

  • Encourage and facilitate camper participation in activities and programs, and help them overcome challenges as needed.

  • Work closely with other camp staff to develop and implement effective behavior management plans.

  • Assist with dorm and/or activity reports for the end of camp.

  • Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.

  • Complete a background check.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for working with children, and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

  • Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or other setting preferred

  • Knowledge of and experience with language-based learning disabilities is a plus.

  • First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain)
