Kildonan's Camp Dunnabeck >> Job Description

We seek a dedicated and experienced Math Tutor to provide one-on-one math instruction to students with dyslexia. The Math Tutor will potentially work with campers ages 8-16 and will be responsible for developing individualized lesson plans to meet each camper's unique needs while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one math instruction to students with dyslexia.

  • Develop individualized lesson plans to meet the specific needs of each camper.

  • Use multisensory approaches to math instruction to enhance understanding and retention.

  • Collaborate with other camp staff members to ensure the campers' success.

  • Keep accurate records of each camper's progress and communicate with parents and guardians as needed.

  • Provide end-of-camp reports for campers in these activities.

  • Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.

  • Complete a background check.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field

  • Experience working with students with dyslexia is preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to attend an online, 4-day training in Multisensory Math Instruction that we will arrange
